Tent & SolarProof® safely adds durable water-repellent (DWR) protection to synthetic weatherproof fabrics, with added defence against UV damage and increased fabric strength.

• Easy to use spray-on waterproofing and UV blocker for all synthetic tents, packs, and outdoor covers.
• Adds water repellency, increases fabric strength and protects against UV deterioration
• Enhances the performance of your tent and gear and doubles their useful life
• Unlike solvent-based products, which need to be applied to dry materials, Nikwax Tent & Gear SolarProof® can be applied to wet or dry fabrics so no need to wait if your tent is wet
• Can double the effective life of synthetic waterproof fabrics by protecting against UV damage while simultaneously providing DWR to keep rain out
• It is best applied to equipment from new to get the most effective benefit
• Water based, non-aerosol, non-flammable, contains no volatile organic compounds (VOCs), fluorocarbon free and environmentally friendly
• Revilatise fabrics by regularly cleaning dirt and other contaminants off with Nikwax Tech Wash ® and, as you notice the fabric's DWR and UV protection is decreasing, revitalise with Tent & Gear Solarproof
• Approximately 50ml required per 1m2, exact amount will depend on the condition of the fabric being treated

Nikwax Tent & Gear SolarProof – Application Instructions

Preparation

• Always clean item(s) first before applying
• No need to dry — item(s) can be wet before waterproofing

Application

• Protect your working surface
• Lay clean wet item flat, or erect tent and wet it
• Spray evenly to the outside of the fabric
• Avoid spraying backpack straps

After Applying

• Wait 2 minutes, then remove any surplus product with a damp cloth
• Check carefully to ensure no areas have been missed
• After several minutes, check again and remove any remaining surplus with a damp cloth
• ⚠️ Marks may appear on fabric if excess product is not wiped away — test on a hidden area first

Ongoing Care

• To maintain waterproofing, always clean with Nikwax SolarWash — do not use detergents

• If your equipment is made of cotton, polycotton, or canvas, use Nikwax Cotton Proof™ for best results
