The 100-calorie packet contains carbohydrates (maltodextrin and fructose), sodium, the primary electrolyte lost in sweat, and the branched-chain amino acids (leucine, valine, isoleucine) also referred to as BCAAs, which are essential amino acids that are converted to energy in the muscles.
